Music Software Trade Assoc.) and SAE Institute as they host IMSTA FESTA, a celebration of music technology packed with Panels, Workshops & Master Classes, Song Critiques, Demonstrations and more. Hosting industry experts in an environment where music-makers can network, interact and learn with each other face-to-face, this annual one-day event is not to be missed. IMSTA FESTA is a FREE event open to everyone in the music making community; professional and semi-professional musicians, songwriters, music producers, and audio engineers, as well as music students and educators.

Overview: Sweetwater Editorial Director, Mitch Gallagher, was introduced to recording when the manager of the rock band he was in loaned him a 4-track cassette recorder. He studied electrical engineering and computer science at North Dakota State University, eventually earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in music from Moorhead State University (now Minnesota State University - Moorhead). His graduate studies at the University of Missouri in Kansas City included music composition and classical guitar.

The former senior technical editor of Keyboard magazine and former editor-in-chief of EQ magazine, Gallagher has published thousands of articles in magazines such as Performing Songwriter, Acoustic Guitar, EQ, EQ en Espanol, Keyboard, Pro Sound News, Guitar Player, Premier Guitar, Government Video, Extreme Groove, Music Technology Buyer’s Guide, Videography, Strings, M, and Microphones & Monitors. He is also the former editor of Church Sound magazine, and served as associate editor at Live Sound magazine.

His books include Make Music Now!, Pro Tools Clinic, The Studio Business Book, 3rd Edition, Acoustic Design For The Home Studio, Mastering Music at Home, and The Music Tech Dictionary. Project Studio Mastering is his first instructional DVD. His latest book is Guitar Tone: Pursuing the Ultimate Guitar Sound. His next book will be available in early 2015.

Brian Kullas - NATIVE INSTRUMENTS

Brian Kullas studied at Dickinson College to pursue a traditional music degree. He soon discovered that his real passion was electronic music production and DJing. Brian attended Dubspot Electronic Music Production and DJ School, where he was able to hone his DJ and music production skills. Brian is now the Lead US Product Specialist for Native Instruments and has been with Native Instruments for the past 6 years. Brian has focused his electronic music style on house, Trap & Hiphop using MASCHINE, KOMPLETE, and TRAKTOR.



Derek Olds - CELEMONY

Along with his Artistic and Production pursuits, Derek Olds is currently an Instructor at The Los Angeles Film & Recording School in Hollywood, and is also heavily involved in the Audio Engineering/Tech worlds. From 2014 to 2018, he was honored to help run the Celemony: Melodyne booths at NAMM, AES, IMSTA, and the Grammy P&E party. We often hear him describe the 'computer' as just another instrument - another tool to convey emotion. As a result, he has strived and excelled in every aspect of modern music from writing, to performing, to production and sound engineering, resulting in truly individual records.



Derek Floyd - IK MULTIMEDIA

Artist, Musician, Songwriter are just a few of the words that describe Derrick Floyd. By day, he is the National Sales and Product Specialist Manager for the ground breaking music technology company, IK Multimedia who is one of the leaders in making professional software tools for musicians, producers and engineers. Also being the pioneers of mobile recording revolution has given Derrick a front roll seat at the helm of the constant evolving world of creative music technology products.



Kevin Ochoa - REVEAL SOUND

Kevin has heavily focused on the technical side of production. His love of sound design and education has helped when delivering masterclasses for various synths such has Spire. Kevin is also a winner of many Dance Music competitions and when he’s not focusing on the aggressive sounds of Hardstyle, Kevin relaxes by producing Melodic Techno. Tony Franco - NUGEN AUDIO

Tony Franco is a freelance recording and mixing engineer. Tony had cut his teeth working with artists in studios, both small and large, around the greater Los Angeles area. Tony has over half a decade of experience mixing remotely for independent artists from around the world. He specializes in working with Hip Hop and electronic pop genres, but ventures out to work with occasional singer song-writers and rock bands as well. Tony likes to work with artists and musicians on a personal level. He feels that creating a positive vibe, and maintaining open communication between the artist and mixer or producer, can nurture more successful songs.



Wilkis Figuereo - SONIBLE

Wilkis Figuereo is a CEO, Entrepreneur, Producer and Engineer. He is the owner of Itec Audio Studios in New Jersey, one of the premier Avid training centers in the North East United States.
