Amie Therrien is the founder of Balsam Pier Music based out of Toronto, Canada. She manages The Young Novelists, The Bombadils, and Mike Edel and provides freelance artist services and management consulting to a broad range of artists.

With a master's degree from the University of Toronto and an eight year career in Civil Engineering, Amie took the most logical step forward and became an artist manager. Her strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills from her engineering background have proved complementary to the creative strengths of the artists she works with.

She has honed her industry knowledge through courses at Harris Institute for the Arts, the Artist Manager program with Canada's Music Incubator and through working in marketing and management at Coalition Music. Amie is also on the boards of Folk Music Ontario, Music Managers Forum and is the Programming Coordinator for Folk Alliance International.
