Software Day and NAMM University Session (January 22)

Saturday January 22 was Software Day, where those working at a member's booth wore the IMSTA shirt with the message “buy the software you use”. As you can see from the photos below the t-shirts got a great response.

Also on Saturday January 22, Ray Williams has been invited to host a 'Piracy' seminar as part of NAMM University entitled Music Software and Piracy: What you can do to increase sales and profits:
Music Software is the most dynamic part of music retail. Software evolves constantly and appeals to a wide cross section of consumers, many of whom are not your typical music store clientele. Music Software is one of the best ways to broaden and increase the diversity of your customer base. However, music software requires special tools and your business needs to apply them in order to make the most of this opportunity. In this seminar learn how software piracy may be eroding the profitability and reducing sales revenue of your business. Learn the simple tools and techniques you can use in your retail store to increase software sales, improve profitability and stimulate your staff to maximize the enormous potential in the most dynamic areas of music retail.

IMSTA's booth

IMSTA also had a booth in Hall A, whose purpose is both to distribute literature (about the organization and our anti-piracy activities) and to raise the organization's profile.
